Quality Assurance Manager - Pet Food Industry (Hybrid, London HQ)

We are currently seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to join one of the fastest-growing and most innovative pet food brands in the UK. This is an exciting hybrid role, combining home working with regular time spent in a brand-new London HQ, with a salary of £45,000+ DOE.
 
The Quality Assurance Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. Working closely with supply chain and new product development teams, this role offers the chance to make a genuine impact in the rapidly expanding pet and animal nutrition industry.
 
Key Responsibilities for the Quality Assurance Manager

  • Lead and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee supplier onboarding and manage quality documentation and certification.
  • Conduct regular supplier audits and review shipping and compliance documentation (COAs, cutting reports, etc.).
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints efficiently, with root cause analysis and reporting.
  • Deliver monthly QMS reports to senior stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with NPD to oversee lab testing and ensure product ranges are fully compliant.
  • Lead the product recall process, ensuring swift, effective action.
  • Provide technical leadership on import/export compliance for international supply chains.
  • Conduct regulatory assessments, developing strategies to address changing legislation.
  • Travel monthly to the Nottingham warehouse for on-site quality checks.
Candidate Requirements for the Quality Assurance Manager
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in quality assurance within the food industry(pet food preferred).
  • ISO9001 Lead Auditor qualification (ISO14001 knowledge also desirable).
  • Strong background in supplier management, quality audits, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and stakeholder influence.
  • Flexibility to travel within the UK and internationally as required.
