Location: Ideally Düsseldorf / West Germany (national travel required)
Package: €70,000 – €80,000 base salary + 10% bonus + company car

We are working in confidence with an established international business in the animal health and equine sector, supplying premium products to specialist retailers and professional partners.

Germany is a strategically important market, and this role has been created to provide clear leadership, commercial direction and consistent execution across the country.

This position will suit an experienced Sales Manager who values structure, accountability and long-term customer relationships, while remaining personally involved in key commercial activity.

Role Overview:

You will hold full national responsibility for sales performance in Germany, leading a field-based sales team while maintaining direct relationships with key customers.
The role combines sales leadership, key account management and active business development, ensuring both stability and sustainable growth within the market.
You will work closely with international colleagues and contribute German market insight to wider commercial planning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop a national team of field sales professionals, providing regular coaching, guidance and performance feedback
  • Define, implement and deliver a clear sales strategy aligned with agreed targets and budgets
  • Take ownership of key accounts and buying group relationships, including commercial negotiations at head-office level
  • Remain present in the market, supporting retail partners and identifying new business opportunities
  • Ensure coordinated activity across retail, wholesale and online channels
  • Monitor performance using sales data, KPIs and CRM tools, and report regularly to senior stakeholders
  • Represent the German market within the wider international commercial structure
Your Profile:

You are a German-native sales professional with a strong commercial foundation and a pragmatic, relationship-oriented approach.
Ideally, you will bring:
  • Proven experience in national sales management, including direct leadership of a field-based team
  • A solid track record in sales growth and key account development within equine, animal health, feed or premium consumer goods
  • A good understanding of the German equine market, its structures and decision-making processes
  • The ability to operate confidently at both strategic and operational levels
  • A professional, credible and approachable leadership style
  • Willingness to travel extensively within Germany to support customers and your team
