Exclusive opportunity within a global pet business

We are exclusively partnering with a global pet business that has built an outstanding reputation over many years, with a portfolio of trusted, well-established brands recognised by pet owners and professionals worldwide.
This is a commercially successful, purpose-led organisation, focused on improving the lives of pets through high-quality products, training, and education.

With strong international performance and an experienced, commercially minded team, the business is now entering its next phase of growth — strengthening how marketing contributes to revenue, digital capability, and long-term brand performance.

This Head of Marketing role sits at the centre of that evolution.

The Opportunity
This is a senior marketing leadership role with clear commercial accountability.
You will work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to shape a more integrated, data-led approach — where marketing plays a defined role in driving revenue, category growth, and customer demand.

The opportunity is to build on strong foundations, developing global marketing strategy across brand, demand generation, D2C, e-commerce, and digital performance.

You will play a key role in driving digital transformation and building a more commercially accountable marketing function.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Leading global marketing strategy across a portfolio of established, high-performing consumer brands
  • Strengthening the connection between marketing activity and revenue growth
  • Building D2C and e-commerce capability from an early-stage foundation
  • Driving digital marketing performance across acquisition, conversion and retention
  • Embedding data, insight and performance tracking into decision-making
  • Working in close partnership with Sales to improve alignment, visibility and shared outcomes
  • Supporting brand development, category growth and product positioning
  • Developing the marketing function, building capability in digital, e-commerce and data
What Success Looks Like
Within the first 12-18 months, the impact of this role should be clear across the business.

Marketing is no longer measured by activity alone, but by its influence on revenue, category growth and the success of new product launches.
There is a visible shift in how Sales and Marketing operate — moving from reactive conversations to structured, data-led collaboration, with shared ownership of performance across key markets and accounts.

Digital and D2C are no longer future ambitions. They are established, growing channels with clear direction, measurable performance, and a defined role within the wider commercial strategy.

Decision-making is more informed. Data, customer insight and market performance are being used consistently to guide investment, shape campaigns and support commercial planning.

The marketing function itself has evolved — with stronger capability in digital, e-commerce and data, clearer accountability, and a team that understands how their work contributes to the bigger picture.

Most importantly, marketing has earned its place at the commercial table. It is influencing decisions, driving growth, and recognised internally as a key contributor to the success of the business.

The Profile
This role will suit a commercially minded marketing leader who is comfortable operating with revenue in mind.
You may already be a Head of Marketing, or stepping into your first role at this level.
What matters is your ability to:
  • Think commercially and understand how marketing drives revenue growth
  • Build and develop digital, D2C and e-commerce capability
  • Lead within a global consumer, FMCG, retail or e-commerce environment
  • Work in close partnership with Sales as a true commercial partner
  • Bring structure, clarity and direction to a growing function
  • Operate with credibility and influence at leadership level
Experience within the pet industry is not essential.
However, a genuine understanding of the category is important.

This is not simply about having a personal affinity with animals. It is about understanding the responsibility, trust and emotional connection that sits behind the products and the people who buy them.

Package
  • £70k+ DOE base salary
  • Bonus (linked to commercial performance)
  • Profit share scheme
  • 28 days holiday
  • Health Shield plan
  • Pension (4% + 4%)
  • Hybrid working (3 days on-site in Surrey)
  • International travel as required
