Looking for a role where you can genuinely influence the people, culture and day-to-day success of a growing business? The Animal People Recruitment Company is delighted to be partnering with an ambitious, fast-growing business to recruit a brand-new People & Business Support Manager.
This is a rare opportunity to become a trusted extension of the Founder and leadership team, playing a pivotal role in supporting the business as it continues its exciting growth journey.
This isn't a traditional HR role, it isn't a typical Executive Assistant position, and it certainly isn't just office management.
Instead, we're looking for someone who thrives on variety, enjoys taking ownership and wants to become the person who keeps the business moving.
Working across people, projects, executive support and business operations, you'll help create the capacity for the leadership team to focus on growth, safe in the knowledge that the day-to-day running of the business is in capable hands.
No two days will ever be the same.
One morning you could be onboarding a new employee, preparing employment contracts and coordinating interviews. That afternoon you might be organising international travel, supporting a leadership meeting, planning the logistics for an overseas trade show or leading a project to improve the employee experience.
If you enjoy solving problems, improving processes and making life easier for those around you, this could be the perfect opportunity.
The Opportunity
This is a broad, hands-on role that combines people coordination, executive support, office management and business operations.
You'll become the central point of coordination across the business, supporting the employee lifecycle whilst helping ensure projects, priorities and business operations continue to run smoothly.
You'll have genuine autonomy, plenty of variety and the opportunity to influence the way the business operates as it continues to grow.
What You'll Be Doing People & HR
You'll support the entire employee lifecycle, helping deliver a professional, engaging and well-organised experience for every employee.
Your responsibilities will include coordinating recruitment campaigns, arranging interviews, preparing offer letters and employment contracts, onboarding new starters and delivering structured induction programmes.
You'll maintain employee records, HR systems and confidential documentation, coordinate right to work, reference and qualification checks, manage holiday and absence administration, maintain training records and support probation reviews.
You'll also work with day-to-day people processes, including performance reviews, Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs), probation meetings, and disciplinary and grievance procedures, ensuring that documentation is prepared accurately, meetings are coordinated professionally, and company policies and procedures are followed consistently.
You'll play an important role in maintaining HR compliance, confidentiality and creating a positive employee experience throughout the employee lifecycle.
Executive Support
Working closely with the Founder, you'll manage diaries, coordinate meetings, organise UK and international travel, prepare presentations and reports, support confidential business matters and ensure priorities continue moving forward.
You'll quickly become someone the leadership team trusts to anticipate what's needed and keep everything running efficiently.
Office & Business Operations
You'll help oversee the smooth day-to-day running of the office, coordinating suppliers, facilities, visitors, meeting rooms, office systems and workplace improvements.
You'll organise company meetings, employee engagement initiatives, team events, wellbeing activities and help create an environment where people genuinely enjoy coming to work.
Projects
As the business continues to grow, you'll play an important role in supporting and leading projects across the organisation.
This could include coordinating international exhibitions and trade shows, managing travel and logistics, organising customer events, improving onboarding, reviewing internal processes, implementing new systems or supporting initiatives that strengthen company culture and employee engagement.
We're looking for someone who naturally spots opportunities to improve the way things are done and enjoys turning ideas into action.
About You
You're someone people naturally rely on.
You're organised, proactive and calm under pressure. You enjoy building relationships, solving problems and taking ownership.
You'll probably already have experience within HR administration, HR coordination, people operations, executive support, office management or business support, and you'll be comfortable wearing multiple hats within a growing SME.
Most importantly, you're someone who doesn't wait to be asked. You anticipate what's needed, enjoy helping others succeed and take pride in delivering an exceptional experience for both employees and the wider business.
What's In It For You?
- £35,000 - £40,000 depending on experience.
- 33 days holiday including bank holidays.
- The opportunity to work directly alongside an entrepreneurial Founder and leadership team.
- A genuinely varied role where no two days are the same.
- The chance to influence the employee experience, improve business processes and lead meaningful projects.
- Ongoing professional development and the opportunity to grow alongside an ambitious, high-growth business.
- A collaborative, supportive culture where your ideas and contribution will genuinely make a difference.
If you're looking for a role where you can combine people coordination, executive support, business operations and project management, whilst becoming a trusted member of a growing leadership team, we'd love to hear from you.
