At The Animal People Recruitment Company, we've spent the last few years building a recruitment business that genuinely does things differently within the pet and animal health industries.
We've built long-term relationships across the UK, Europe, and increasingly the USA by focusing on people, reputation, honesty, and delivering recruitment properly. Because of that, we're now in a really exciting position where our USA offering is growing quickly, and we're looking for the right person to help us build it further.
After years of travelling internationally and building relationships through events like Global Pet Expo and SuperZoo, we already have active US clients, live vacancies, and an engaged network of candidates across the States.
This is not a completely cold desk. This is an opportunity to step into a market with real momentum behind it and help shape what our USA division becomes over the coming years.
We're looking for an experienced 360 recruiter who loves building relationships, enjoys the commercial side of recruitment, and wants more ownership and autonomy than most recruitment businesses are willing to give.
You'll play a huge part in growing our US client and candidate network whilst representing a brand that people within the industry already know and trust.
What the role will involve:
- Building and growing relationships with US-based clients
- Delivering retained and exclusive recruitment projects
- Growing a high-quality candidate network across the States
- Managing the full 360 recruitment process
- Developing new business opportunities within the pet and animal health industries
- Working closely with candidates throughout their recruitment journey
- Using video-led recruitment technology and modern systems
- Representing The Animal People brand at industry events and trade shows
We're not a business obsessed with pointless KPIs, call time targets, or throwing CVs at clients and hoping for the best. We care about quality, relationships, and building something sustainable that people actually enjoy being part of.
What we're looking for
We're looking for somebody who already understands how to recruit successfully within the US market and is excited by the opportunity to help grow our presence there long-term.
To be considered for this role, you must:
- Have proven experience recruiting within the USA
- Be based in the UK
- Be comfortable working flexibly across different US time zones
- Have strong experience within a 360 recruitment environment
- Be confident building and developing client relationships
- Be commercially aware, proactive, and capable of working autonomously
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who genuinely wants to build something. Someone who takes pride in their work, cares about people, and can see the long-term opportunity of helping shape our US division within a business that already has real momentum behind it.

- Remote-first role within the UK
