Veterinary Group Support Manager
Independent Veterinary Group | Hampshire Area | Multi-Site Leadership Role
Salary up to £50,000+ depending on experience

The Animal People Recruitment Company is working with a well-established independent veterinary group to find a Veterinary Group Support Manager to support four practices.

This is a really important hire for them. They’ve had a bit of change in this role previously, so they’re now focused on finding the right person, not just filling the position.

You’ll be working closely with the Operations Director and the practice teams to help bring structure, consistency, and support across the group, while still allowing each practice to operate in a way that works for them.

If you’ve worked as a Veterinary Practice Manager, Senior RVN, Head Nurse, or in a multi-site veterinary role, this is a really nice step into something broader.

About the role

This role sits across four practices and acts as that central point of support.
You’ll be:
  • Spending time across the sites each week
  • Working closely with Head Nurses and practice teams
  • Supporting day-to-day challenges as they come up
  • Helping create more consistency across the group
It’s quite a hands-on role. Some days will be structured, others will be more reactive depending on what’s happening across the practices.
This isn’t a desk-based job. It’s very much about being present, building relationships, and supporting people.

Key responsibilities
  • Supporting the day-to-day running of four veterinary practices
  • Working closely with senior leadership on group priorities
  • Supporting and guiding Head Nurses across each site
  • Helping bring consistency across practices where needed
  • Supporting recruitment, training, compliance, and client experience
  • Spotting opportunities to improve how things are working
  • Acting as a visible and approachable point of contact across the group
  • Supporting better collaboration between the practices
About you

This role really needs someone who understands veterinary practice life.
You’ll need to be able to build trust quickly, especially with experienced teams who know how they like to work.
We’re particularly interested in people who have worked as:
  • Veterinary Practice Manager
  • Senior RVN or Registered Veterinary Nurse
  • Head Nurse
  • Regional or Multi-Site Manager
  • Veterinary Operations Manager
You’ll likely bring:
  • Experience managing teams, ideally across more than one site
  • Strong people skills and the ability to influence without forcing change
  • Confidence working with clinical teams
  • Good organisation and communication skills
  • A calm, practical approach to problem solving
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities at once
  • A collaborative, low-ego approach
They don’t need someone to come in and overhaul everything. They need someone who can guide, support, and bring people together.

Why join this veterinary group?

This is a genuinely independent group where decisions are made close to the teams.

The practices are well established, with good people in place, but they need the right person to help bring everything together and provide consistent support.
You’ll be working closely with a supportive Operations Director and leadership team, and you’ll be in a position where you can make a real difference day to day.

Salary and benefits
  • Salary up to £50,000+ depending on experience
  • 5 weeks holiday plus Bank Holidays
  • Pension scheme
  • On-site parking
  • Cost price veterinary treatment for up to two pets
  • RCVS fees and VDS cover if applicable
  • £500 annual CPD allowance
  • A visible, hands-on leadership role
Location

This role supports four practices across Hampshire, so candidates within a reasonable commuting distance will be of particular interest.
