Reflecting on an Energising London Vet Show 2025

Waheeda Jafferali • November 28, 2025

"This year marked my eighth London Vet Show, yet somehow it still felt brand new."

Waheeda had the honour of attending as a delegate in support of the brilliant Community Masterminds project led by the inspiring Ebony Escalona from
Vets Stay Go Diversity.

She says,

"Facilitating conversations around career transitions beyond the clinic is something that forms part of my daily life but being invited to guide those discussions in a room full of motivated, curious and honest professionals was genuinely humbling. It was a privilege to offer advice, share insights and represent our team at the Animal People Recruitment Company on such a meaningful platform"

A Show Full of Energy, Honesty and Humanity

What struck her the most this year was the energy. Not just the bright lights, creative stands or the festival-style buzz (although the baristas, treats and happy hour antics certainly didn’t disappoint), but the energy in the conversations.

Across the exhibition floor, people weren’t only talking business. They were sharing stories.

Stories of personal achievements.
Stories of navigating a challenging economic climate.
Stories of frustration, resilience and real progress.

This year felt like a celebration. Not just of products or services, but of people. A vibrant cross-section of the animal health world showed up: innovators, clinicians, industry leaders, graduates, start-ups, familiar friends and new faces. And with them came a sense of community that feels uniquely connected to the London Vet Show.

Innovation and Familiar Faces

The show floor was alive with exciting product launches and bold ideas. Congratulations to every business that invested the time, creativity and courage to put their innovations front and centre.

For Waheeda personally, it was also a joy to reconnect with candidates she has placed over the years, many of whom are now thriving in roles they once doubted they could land. She was also able to catch up with long-standing clients who have become friends, as well as new companies keen to explore how we can support their recruitment strategies in the future.

The Post-Show Feeling We All Know

A quick scroll through LinkedIn reveals the same theme every year. Everyone is exhausted but super happy!! 😊

The London Vet Show has a way of draining your batteries and charging them at the same time. It is a whirlwind, but a satisfying one filled with pride, camaraderie and that familiar sense of achievement.

Waheeda says,

"London Vet Show 2025 reminded me once again that this industry is special. It is full of passion, innovation, shared challenges and shared wins. And I am already looking forward to doing it all again next year."

Key takeaways from the PIF Business Conference Last week, I attended a series of expert-led sessions hosted by Bird & Bird , in partnership with the Pet Industry Federation (PIF) , focused on a challenge that’s still very real for our industry: exporting pet products from the UK into the EU post‑Brexit . First, a genuine thank you to PIF for the invitation and for bringing businesses together to talk openly about what’s working, what isn’t, and where the risks really sit. These conversations matter , because exporting into Europe today is not what it was five years ago, and pretending otherwise helps no one.
