Visiting Birmingham Dogs Home: A Reminder of Why We Give

We finished off the week with a visit to Birmingham Dogs Home, where we had the honour of handing over our latest donation of £1,100. As Platinum Patrons of this life-saving charity, we bank a small donation every single time we place someone into a new job and this represents the last few weeks of people we have placed into new jobs.

Whether we’ve helped a Sales Director join a pet food brand, a Veterinary Nurse start a new role with a pharmaceutical brand, or a Marketing Exec step into the animal health sector, every success helps rescue dogs get the second chances they deserve. It’s our way of making recruitment count for more.

A Night at the Dogspiracy Premiere

Earlier in the week, I had the privilege of attending the world premiere of Dogspiracy — a raw, emotional, and vitally important documentary created by someone I deeply admire: Dr. Marc Abraham OBE, directed by Paul Crompton. Marc is one of my heroes. His tireless campaigning for animal welfare in the UK and beyond is nothing short of inspiring. Being invited to witness the result of years of advocacy, courage, and compassion was an honour I won’t forget. Dogspiracy shines a bright (and often uncomfortable) light on the dark side of the pet world — particularly the horrors of puppy farms and puppy mills in both the UK and US. It wasn’t an easy watch. I got home around 1:30am, but couldn’t sleep. My head was spinning with thoughts, heartache, and a fire inside me to do more. Marc will also be joining me on my podcast soon so watch this space!
